  • No Gi Jiu Jitsu Highlights
    This is a highlight video of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu BJJ competitors in the no-gi format. It highlights Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan, Craig Jones, Eddie Cummings, Jon Calestine, and Dean Lister in nogi competitions. These are some of the best competitors in the world right now. This list of names also includes the Danaher Death Squad who was formed by John Danaher at the Renzo Gracie school in New York. Many of the submissions are heel hooks, armbars, and chokes/strangles. A lot of these highlights take place in the Eddie Bravo Invitational EBI competition and the ibjjf worlds competitions.
    I plan to put out new videos frequently. Feel free to comment and let me know what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner you would like to see in a highlight video. If I like your idea I will put it up :) . Thanks in advance for any input. Also, it's free to subscribe so hit that SUBSCRIBE button if you want to see more of these videos for motivation, inspiration, or just entertainment!
    Thanks, enjoy, comment, and subscribe!

    As much as I respect Gordon Ryan, that little prodigy of their's, Ryan at Danaher's Death Squad, the guy that I can't help but respect is Craig Jones. Unlike Gordon who has had access to the best of the best since he was 16yrs old essentially, Jones had to learn it himself, with barely a blackbelt to wrestle with until he started winning at the big tournaments. Now I have seen him in the DDS videos training with Danaher's crew, which is awesome, and I respect Gordon and those guys for letting a guy like that into their gym, says a lot about them as well. But man, to get to the top without that legendary teacher like someone like Gordon, Ryan, Cummings, etc had, or even Kron Gracie as well, Craig Jones f-ing did it out of nowhere. It was funny as hell listening to his first big fights, and commentators are like who is this dude, and expect the guy he is fighting to take him easy, etc, and Craig of course kept winning.
    Awesome video, had seen a lot of it already, but nicely compiled.

      Thanks. I had never thought of Craig that way. It's true that it must have been much harder for him to learn and teach himself from hos location. Great input 👍

      Yep, training out of his cousins gym in Adelaide where you could count the number of bb's on one hand and still have fingers left over to become one of the best guys on the planet is amazing. He never really even took bjj seriously till a few years. Not to mention he hasn't replied on PEDs like ALOT of others.

      But wasn't his coach Lachlan Giles, the guy who just took 3rd place in the ADCC absolute division, submitting top world champions along the way.

      Yeah, it's a good setup. I've seen Jon Calestine use it as well. It confuses the other guy because he's worried about the first leg that you grabbed.

    I remember looking at leg locks for the first time and not knowing what the hell was going on. Now I not only know what is happening, but I can also see the moves coming from a mile away.
    That first clip with Craig Jones and the shin-to-shin to Cross Ashi Garami transition made me think of this.

      I know what you mean. When I first saw EBI if just looked like their legs were just always all tangled up. Later I realized they were usually going to Inside Sankaku

      @TakedownBreakdown  6 лет назад +2

      I use "Hitfilm" and I use the free version. It takes a little while for your first video, but once you get used to it, it's a great software 👍
